Anti-Ragging Policy
Introduction
MKSS institute of Law is committed to providing a safe, secure, and healthy learning environment for all its students. Ragging is strictly prohibited on campus and in any associated premises. The institution upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.
Definition of Ragging
As per UGC Regulations, ragging constitutes any of the following:

Any conduct by any student or group of students which causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm.

Indulging in undisciplined activities that may disrupt academic or personal dignity.

Acts of abuse, humiliation, or harassment (verbal or physical).

Forcing students to perform acts that they would not ordinarily do and which cause shame or embarrassment.
Objectives of the Policy

To eliminate ragging in all forms.

To ensure strict compliance with anti-ragging regulations.

To foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and sensitivity.

To provide mechanisms for reporting and redressing incidents of ragging.
Preventive Measures

Anti-Ragging Awareness programs during orientation and throughout the year.

Display of anti-ragging posters in strategic locations.

Online and written undertakings from both students and parents at the time of admission.

Surveillance through student volunteers and faculty vigilance teams.
Anti-Ragging Committee
A dedicated Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted to monitor and ensure the implementation of the policy. The committee includes:

Heads of Departments

Student Representatives (Senior and Junior batches)

Anti-Ragging Squad
The college also has an Anti-Ragging Squad consisting of staff and faculty members who make surprise visits and interact with students to ensure compliance.
Reporting Ragging
Any student who feels they are being subjected to ragging is encouraged to:

Report to the Anti-Ragging Committee or Squad.

Disciplinary Action
Ragging in any form will lead to strict disciplinary action, including but not limited to:

FIR with the local police under applicable legal provisions
